About the Role

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Headteacher to lead our new school, Trimdon Hill School, in Durham. As Headteacher, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and management of the school, ensuring it meets its aims and objectives and operates within the overall strategy and guidelines of Options Autism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver outstanding outcomes for pupils and young people, reflecting their needs, abilities, and aptitudes.
  • Create a safe environment that protects the welfare of pupils, young people, and staff.
  • Meet all statutory requirements, achieving the highest inspection ratings possible.
  • Motivate and engage a staff group committed to excellence in all areas of school life.
  • Ensure the commercial success of the school, with 100% occupancy, rigorous cost management, and growth plans.
  • Develop and implement effective strategic and operational planning, including self-evaluation and school improvement.
  • Foster a shared vision that inspires and motivates students, staff, and the school community.
Essential Criteria
  • At least three years' experience as a senior leader in mainstream or special educational needs schools.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent.
  • Willingness to extend personal and professional development.
  • Ability to lead and provide a clear vision.
  • Appreciation and understanding of leadership and management processes contributing to pupil outcomes, staff motivation, and school success.
