About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Headteacher to lead our new school, Trimdon Hill School, in Durham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for setting up and growing our school, which will cater to pupils with a variety of needs, including Autism.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership and management in special educational needs schools, with a strong focus on pupil outcomes, staff motivation, and school improvement. You will be passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment that promotes high-quality learning and maximizes pupil achievement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a clear vision for the school, aligned with the Options Autism strategy
  • Lead and manage a team of staff to deliver high-quality education and care to pupils
  • Ensure the school meets its statutory requirements and achieves the highest inspection ratings possible
  • Manage the school's budget and resources effectively, with a focus on commercial success and growth
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve pupil outcomes, staff motivation, and school improvement
Essential Criteria
  • At least three years' experience as a senior leader in special educational needs schools
  • Qualified Teacher Status or Equivalent
  • Ability to lead and provide a clear vision for the school
  • Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with Autism and other special educational needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What We Offer
