About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to join our team as a Medical Director and Director of Education. This is a senior leadership position that will play a critical role in shaping our organization's vision and impact on healthcare in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Education and Standards Directorate, influencing the future of medical education in the UK.
  • Lead the Directorate's regulatory duties for physician associates and anaesthesia associates, ensuring compliance with statutory and policy responsibilities.
  • Represent the GMC's work with senior stakeholders and on public platforms, promoting the organization's vision and values.
  • Provide high-quality professional advice to the Chief Executive, Chair, council members, directors, and staff.
Requirements
  • Be a registered medical practitioner with a strong track record in medical education and training.
  • Have a portfolio of evidence of successful implementation of wider health policy, particularly in clinical governance, professional development, and patient safety.
  • Bring significant experience of developing and leading large, high-performing teams, with the ability to shape policy and strategy.
  • Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills, with excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
