Job Overview

A dynamic and ambitious role within Age UK North Tyneside, we are seeking a skilled HR Business Partner to drive organisational growth and development. With a focus on strategic planning, talent management, and employee engagement, this position is pivotal in shaping the future of our organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an organisational People Strategy aligned with the organisation's strategic objectives and values.
  • Advise on workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and organisational design.
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and performance initiatives.
  • Lead on overall HR performance in line with the People Strategy and annual strategic plans.

Leadership & Management

  • Be a role model and leader within AUKNT, promoting a positive culture which respects diversity, encourages initiative and enterprise.
  • Effectively manage and support the HR Team and ensure Continuous Professional Development to aid with succession planning.
  • Work with line managers across the organisation to tackle performance issues with resolve and empathy to develop individual and team performance, recognising and valuing good performance.
  • Work with line managers to promote a high-performance culture across the organisation.
  • Work with line managers across the organisation to create an inclusive and positive working environment which fosters a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Uphold and demonstrate at all times the values and behaviours of the Group.
  • Work consistently to a high standard and demonstrate continuous improvement in line with the Group's Quality Assurance Framework.
  • Assist Heads of Service with any service improvement programme that may be identified through inspection, audit, or customer feedback.
  • Have oversight over the Group's Equal Opportunities policies, principles and practices and ensure these are observed and implemented throughout service delivery.
  • Ensure your service area is subject to regular unannounced internal inspections and audits.
  • Ensure effective networking and liaison with other agencies by participating in relevant meetings and representing the values and policies of the Group.

Employee Relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant processes.
  • Provide advice on conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, grievances, and employment law.
  • Facilitate positive relationships between line managers and employees, fostering a supportive and compassionate work culture.
  • Act as organisation partner to coach line managers in all people related activity.

Recruitment and Talent Development

  • Support the recruitment of high-quality candidates, working with hiring managers to ensure the best fit for roles across the organisation.
  • Have oversight over onboarding and induction programmes, ensuring a smooth integration for new employees.
  • Develop and implement talent development initiatives to support staff growth and career progression.

Compliance and Operational Responsibilities

  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date, compliant with current legislation, and in line with best practices.
  • Advise on HR-related compliance issues, including safeguarding and health and safety for both staff and volunteers.
  • Manage the performance of the HR Team to ensure the Group strategy and objectives are achieved.
  • Be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service excellence across the Group.
  • Ensure that all quality standards are followed and maintained in line with organisational agreed delivery procedures for customer services.
  • Comply with all Group Policies & Procedures.
  • Comply with the Data Protection Act 2018.

Qualifications & Experience

  • CIPD Level 5 Qualification.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent Management Qualification.
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role.
  • Evidence of experience and understanding of most of the disciplines contained within the Job Profile, in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience managing employee relations issues and advising on performance management.
  • Managing and developing a range of HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience of using digital Recruitment and HR solutions.
