About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager to join our team at Pavilions of Harrogate, a leading venue for conferences, meetings, exhibitions, celebrations, and weddings. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continued success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to deliver safe and successful events
  • Support clients and guests in every aspect of running events, from preparing the venue to ensuring the event runs smoothly and safely
  • Liaise with internal and external teams efficiently, including electricians, plumbers, car parking attendants, cleaners, and caterers
  • Answer all client and visitor requests in a polite, confident, and efficient professional manner
  • Deal effectively with any complaints and handle all matters with a fair and even response in accordance with standard practices
  • Properly communicate and feedback to all team members during shift changes and post-shows on all aspects of the events
  • Clean and clear spaces, and be responsible for the security of the buildings and grounds when opening and locking up
  • Monitor and manage contractors directly employed and assist with clients' sub-contractors
Requirements
  • Experience in a similar front-of-house events environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face
  • Able to deliver a high level of customer service
  • Flexibility in approach, with the post involving evening and weekend work
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to think on your feet, use your initiative, and problem-solve
  • Some knowledge of the technical aspects of event production would be useful
  • Some experience of operational health and safety
