We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our supportive, friendly and hardworking team in the Borough of Waltham Forest in South East London.

Mental Health Teaching Assistant Role Overview:
  • Mentor students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) requirements.
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils and provide individualised support to address their needs.
About the Job:

The successful candidate will work alongside our SEND, Pastoral and Safeguarding teams to reduce barriers to learning. The role involves planning and running group sessions and 1:1 sessions addressing the specific needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Mentoring students with SEN and SEMH requirements.
  2. Developing strong relationships with pupils to build trust and ensure effective communication.
  3. Planning and running group sessions and 1:1 sessions to address the specific needs of students.
Job Requirements:

A graduate with an interest in SEMH or SEN is desirable. Previous experience or a passion for working with young people to make a positive impact on their lives is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to build trust and establish effective relationships with students and staff.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is estimated at £105-£110 per day, paid for full-time, full academic year work. We offer a commitment to continued professional development and opportunities to work alongside Counsellors, Therapists, Psychologists and more.
