Materials Scientist Apprentice Position

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Materials Scientist Apprentice. As part of this role, you will assist our science team in advancing the development of sustainable biopolymers and their biodegradation.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects that make a tangible impact and gain hands-on experience in laboratory settings.

About the Role:
  • You will be responsible for assisting our science team in replicating experiments designed by the science team (polymerisation, crosslinking, enzymatic biodegradation) and supporting R&D admin, such as equipment costing and ordering
  • You will also support analysis of experimental results and regularly travel to the University of Manchester to prepare reports on experiments

Requirements:
  • Studying a degree in Chemistry, biochemistry or Material Science
  • Practical experience with polymers or enzymes
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude, presenting solutions rather than problems
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent English
