Job Title: Support Technician

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Support Technician to join our Maintenance Engineering team at Shirebrook. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing maintenance support for distribution systems and equipment, ensuring efficient and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide maintenance support for distribution systems, including conveyor belts, sorting machines, and automated storage systems. Work closely with the maintenance technicians and be able to work autonomously.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve simple issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Maintenance and Repairs:
  • Perform Regular Inspections: Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on distribution equipment with appropriate support where required.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all equipment is maintained according to manufacturer guidelines and safety standards.
System Monitoring:
  • Monitor System Performance: Monitor the performance of distribution systems to identify potential issues.
  • Report Irregularities: Report any irregularities or potential problems to the maintenance supervisor.
Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to Health and Safety Regulations: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and compliance checks.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain Detailed Records: Maintain and record detailed records through CMMS of all support and maintenance activities.
Collaborative Efforts:
  • Work with Distribution Teams: Work closely with the distribution and logistics teams to support seamless operations.
  • Implement New Systems: Assist with the implementation of new systems and technologies within the distribution centre.

Requirements:

  • Education: GCSEs or equivalent. NVQ Level 1 in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance desired, however not required, Information Technology, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Experience: Experience in a semi-skilled maintenance role, preferably within a distribution or logistics environment would be advantageous.
  • Skills: Technical troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights. Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
