Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced dietitian to join our dynamic Paediatric Diabetes Team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paediatric diabetes care and excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a paediatric diabetes caseload of over 200 children across the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells area. This will involve working closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, including Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses and Consultant Paediatricians, to provide inpatient and community support. The dietitian will also be involved in providing training and contributing to diabetes network groups.

Person Specification
  • Essential qualifications: BSc or post-graduate diploma in dietetics or equivalent, current state registration with HCPC
  • Desirable qualifications: Member of BDA or other body conferring professional insurance, active member of BDA specialist group
  • Essential experience: Dietetic experience post-qualification, MDT working
  • Desirable experience: Paediatric experience, diabetes experience, BDA paediatric Module 1 and 2 or equivalent
  • Essential skills: Excellent communication skills, oral and written, negotiating and problem-solving, team working, time management, IT skills
  • Desirable skills: Behavioural change training
