Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced dietitian to join our dynamic and progressive Paediatric Diabetes Team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within either diabetes or paediatrics, and we would be able to support their development in this area.

Main Duties of the Job

Alongside another paediatric diabetes dietitian, the successful candidate will be responsible for a paediatric diabetes caseload of over 200 children across Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells area.

This post is based at Maidstone with clinics on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the successful candidate will work closely with members of the multi-disciplinary team, including Paediatric Diabetes Specialist Nurses (PDSNs) and Consultant Paediatricians.

The successful candidate will attend regular multi-disciplinary team clinics, provide inpatient and community support, and be involved in providing training and contributing to diabetes network groups.

As a Band 6, the successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to service development and ensure the service meets the Best Practice Tariff for diabetes.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • BSc or post grad diploma in dietetics or equivalent.
  • Current state registration with HCPC.

Desirable Criteria

  • Member of BDA or other body conferring professional insurance.
  • Active member of BDA specialist group.

Experience and Knowledge

  • Dietetic experience post qualification.
  • MDT working.
