Job Purpose:

Pilgrim's Europe is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to lead the management of purchasing across a range of categories within the Indirects area, including IT, Marketing, and Agriculture. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving efficiencies, ensuring best total cost of acquisition, and minimizing risk.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Collaborate with the Head of Indirect Procurement to develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Assist in the SRM of suppliers and manage contracts for smaller suppliers, ensuring optimal performance and value.
  • Supplier Assessment and Improvement: Develop and maintain a supplier assessment program, driving improvements in supplier performance and quality.
  • Contract Management: Develop and manage supplier contracts for major areas of spend, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Procurement Value Added: Increase procurement value added and influence in areas of spend under control, driving cost savings and process improvements.
  • Supply Chain Management: Manage contracted areas on Moy Supply, new suppliers, SRF, contracts, events, and tenders, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruption.
  • Risk Management: Develop and implement Risk Management & Business Continuity Plans with key suppliers, ensuring business continuity and minimal risk.
  • Supplier Network Optimization: Look to reduce complexity of supplier network where practical, ensuring optimal performance and value.
  • Price Opportunities and Threats: Track, understand, and flag to internal customers price opportunities and threats, ensuring proactive management and mitigation.
  • Supplier Quality and Service: Drive to improve supplier quality and service, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Cost Savings and Benchmarking: Identify cost savings through spend analysis and benchmarking/tender processes, new technology, alternative suppliers, non-traditional sources, etc.
  • Business Requirements and Value-Adding Projects: Work within and lead cross-functional teams to understand and define business requirements and deliver value-adding projects.
  • Global Synergy Programs: Participate in global synergy programs in cross-functional teams, driving business value and improvement.
  • Delegation and Support: Deputize for manager when required, maintaining SAP contracts, sourcing, and pricing in conjunction with team support.
Essential Criteria:
  • Procurement Experience: At least 3 years' experience in a Procurement Department, with a proven track record of driving cost savings and process improvements.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Hold a driving license and be flexible to travel as required, with a willingness to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Sustainability: Interested in improving sustainability within the supply base, with a commitment to responsible and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Supplier Management: Recent experience in managing a range of suppliers and categories, with strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Cost Savings and Project Management: Proven cost savings across a range of categories, with strong project management and implementation skills.
  • Self-Motivation and Continuous Improvement: Self-motivated and driven to continuously improve, with a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • Supplier Benchmarking and Tender Process: Proficient in supplier benchmarking and tender process, with a strong understanding of procurement best practices.
  • IT Understanding: Strong IT understanding, with the ability to leverage technology to drive business value and improvement.
