We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Control Centre Operations team. As Head of Operations Control, you will be responsible for directing and controlling the activities of our Control Centres, ensuring the delivery of our timetable, target performance, safety, and customer service experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the Operations Control team and across the wider organisation to ensure performance is not compromised through Control decision making.
- Develop and implement strategic contingency plans for the operation with short, medium, and long-term plans that enable it to move in the same direction as the wider business strategy in relation to PTL.
- Align objectives, processes, and behaviours to give a seamless service to both internal and external customers to agreed service level agreements.
- Using all available data and trend analysis, improve overall Control operational performance by encouraging and implementing innovation and continuous improvement initiatives that will add value to the effectiveness of the business.
- Build and maintain collaborative productive working relationships with own team and other stakeholders. Develop a partnership approach and monitor, review, and where necessary improve these working relationships to ensure the overall business strategy is achieved.
- Lead the integration of the Taffs Well Integrated Control Centre, supporting delivery of the milestones on the overall Core Valley Lines (CVL) programme.
- Acting as client for systems transformations, ensuring benefits realisation and supporting contractor management to ensure value for money for the taxpayer and farepayer.
- Excellent leadership skills
- Strong people management expertise
- Extensive experience of project management and delivery
- The ability to innovate, influence, and implement change
- Strong railway and operational experience
- Excellent financial and commercial awareness
The ability to speak/write Welsh would make a great addition to your application, but it is not essential for this role. Transport for Wales supports and promotes the use of the Welsh Language by employees and will encourage them to develop, improve, and maintain their Welsh Language skills.
