Head of Teaching and Learning for Educational Excellence

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Teaching and Learning team as the Head of Teaching and Learning for Educational Excellence. This role involves leading on teacher and professional development across all provision types, including study programmes, apprenticeships, adults, SEND, and subcontractors. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of Teaching and Learning Coaches to provide coaching and development to curriculum areas and teachers in line with curriculum Duo Targets, Quality Improvement Plans, and individual Teacher Development Plans.

About the Role:

  • Drive improvements in teaching, learning, and curriculum through quality improvement activity, ensuring strong progress against curriculum Duo targets.
  • Lead a cross-organisational team of Teaching and Learning Coaches to provide coaching and development to curriculum areas and teachers.
  • Deliver a professional development programme across all provision types that is rooted in evidence-informed practice and enables a culture of self-reflection and collaboration.

Essential Criteria:

  • A passion for education demonstrated through a strong understanding of teaching and assessment in the further education setting.
  • A strong track record of excellent teaching and learning with evidence of inspiring and challenging teaching practice, whilst achieving high levels of student success.
  • Experience of curriculum, course design, and assessment that meets awarding body requirements.
  • Be committed to and proactive in the development of own practice through professional development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Assessor and verifier qualifications.
  • A degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience of delivering high-quality teacher training or teacher development.
