Job Title: Facilities and Maintenance Director
A rare opportunity has arisen to join a leading, dynamic, and fun events company based in Gloucester as their new Facilities and Maintenance Director. This exciting role is responsible for managing the effective maintenance and refurbishment of mobile and semi-permanent assets from budget to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Refurb Budgets: Develop comprehensive budgets for all assets, ensuring accurate cost projections and timely delivery.
- Scheduling: Create annual refurbishment and maintenance schedules, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Tasks Delegation: Delegate tasks effectively to team members and contractors, promoting efficient workflow and excellent results.
- Health & Safety Audits: Conduct quarterly health and safety audits, identifying areas requiring maintenance or refurbishment and implementing corrective measures promptly.
- Document Preparation: Prepare and submit necessary health and safety documents for site work, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Procurement: Manage the procurement of required components and materials, streamlining processes for optimal efficiency.
- Fault Reporting: Implement an effective fault/defect reporting system for assets in use at events, ensuring prompt issue resolution and minimizing downtime.
- Team Supervision: Supervise team members and contractors, ensuring they adhere to safe work practices and compliance directives/guidelines.
- Contractor Scheduling: Schedule contractors as required to support the maintenance team, guaranteeing timely completion of tasks.
- Task Sign-off: Sign off on completed maintenance work prior to deployment at events, ensuring quality assurance.
- Support: Offer support to the build team with in-house projects when needed, contributing to the company's overall success.
Required Attributes:
- Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of general building and compliance principles, including gas, electrical, and plumbing regulations, is advantageous.
- Regulatory Awareness: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations is essential for this role.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, including active listening and translation of complex information, are crucial for success in this position.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are necessary for scheduling maintenance tasks and ensuring job completion, even during emergencies.
- Attention to Detail: The ability to pay close attention to detail ensures that maintenance tasks are not overlooked and minor site problems do not become major issues.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: An excellent understanding of reporting procedures and record-keeping is vital for this role.
- Stakeholder Interaction: The ability to work and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders is essential for this position.
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Benefits: This role comes with excellent benefits, including 28 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, life cover, income protection, fortnightly team lunches, regular social activities, and the opportunity to be involved in some of the UK's most prestigious sporting events and festivals.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
