About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Auditor to join our Group Compliance Operations team at SSE PLC. As a Compliance Auditor, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our business units comply with regulatory and legal obligations, as well as internal procedural and policy requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Carry out compliance audits to assess the activities of our business units and corporate support functions, identifying areas of non-compliance and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate review findings to key stakeholders, including senior managers, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop and implement action plans to mitigate findings and improve compliance.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of relevant regulation and legislation, and assist business units in identifying key compliance risks.
  • Contribute to the development of Group Compliance Operations processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Current Audit Professional qualification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or International Compliance Association (ICA) Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of regulatory rules governing energy and/or financial markets.
  • Excellent report writing skills, with the ability to manage time and workload efficiently, and negotiate/influence effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.
