Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) is a leading regional transport authority in Scotland, responsible for delivering a range of public transport services, managing infrastructure projects, and developing a long-term transport strategy for the West of Scotland.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Inspector to join our Schools Agency Services & Compliance Team, which is part of the Bus Strategy & Delivery department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing quality assurance audits of SPT-related transport contracts, monitoring operational performance and compliance, and inspecting vehicle condition.

About You

You will have excellent communication skills, both verbally and face-to-face, with experience in a customer-facing role or in a front-line customer-oriented, commercial, or operational environment. You must be able to deal with high-pressure situations, resolve customer and operational issues, and work in an environment where a high level of concentration, vigilance, and safety awareness is required.

You will be a team player, reliable, punctual, and flexible in your approach to working patterns. In-depth knowledge of the Bus network in the Strathclyde area is desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality assurance audits of SPT-related transport contracts
  • Monitor operational performance and compliance
  • Inspect vehicle condition
  • Observe the operation of transport contracts, partnerships, and traffic regulation matters
  • Travel on services where necessary and visit relevant locations as directed
