Senior Practitioner for Children and Young People

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHSFT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner for Children and Young People to join our team. As a key member of our Mental Health Liaison Service, you will provide specialist clinical leadership, supervision, and support to our multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality care to children and young people presenting to our hospital with mental health needs.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive assessments to plan and identify the mental health needs of children and young people referred to our service.
- Develop and maintain robust holistic care pathways into wider children and young people's services.
- Lead on the development of the multidisciplinary team's knowledge and skills set around the assessment and response to the needs of children and young people.
- Provide assessment and direct patient interventions for children and young people, focusing on relapse prevention, early discharge, and improved quality of life.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have recent experience of working within a child and adolescent mental health service, providing emergency or urgent response and assessment to children and young people. You will also need to have experience in leading on and managing complex children and young people's mental health presentations, as well as prior clinical leadership and service development experience.
