Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN Role

GSL Education - Newcastle is seeking a dedicated and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN to join our team. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant SEN, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and materials, ensuring a tailored approach to meet the needs of each student.
  • Contribute to creating a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere, fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, providing valuable insights to teachers and other support staff.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in class activities, promoting a love of learning.
Requirements:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification, demonstrating a strong foundation in education or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs, showcasing a commitment to their well-being and success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with teachers and other staff members.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, essential for building strong relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting, although not essential.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to have one processed immediately, ensuring a safe and secure working environment.
