Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN Experienced

Location: Ashington, Northumberland

Pay Scale: £75 - £100 Per Day

Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Start Date: September 2024

GSL Education is looking for a dedicated and motivated Graduate Teaching Assistant – SEN Experienced to join the supportive team at our client schools in Ashington, Northumberland starting in September 2024. If you have experience working with children, particularly in a SEN environment, this role could be the perfect next step in your career.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN Experienced, Your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in the classroom, particularly those with SEN needs.
  • Assisting teachers in preparing lessons and adapting them to meet the needs of students with SEN.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students to help them achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Helping to implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encouraging students to develop their independence, social skills, and self-confidence.
  • Participating in team meetings and contribute to the school's overall SEN strategy.
  • Working closely with teachers and other staff members to support the educational and emotional development of students.

Job Requirements of Graduate Teaching Assistant-SEN Experienced:

  • A bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or a relevant field is necessary.
  • Experience working with children, ideally in an SEN environment, is required.
  • Solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to address the needs of the school and students.
