Position: Graduate Teaching Assistant - SEN Focus

Salary: £75 to £100 per day

Contract Type: Full-time/ Part-time

GSL Education is seeking dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistants with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) to support students in various educational settings.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing the learning experience for students, providing individualized support in both one-on-one and small group settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in delivering lessons and maintaining an effective classroom atmosphere.
  • Implement the institution's behaviour management strategies to foster a safe and welcoming educational environment.
  • Support teachers in managing student behaviour effectively.
  • Provide assistance to students with additional learning requirements, including SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD.
  • Track and document student progress, addressing any concerns with appropriate staff members.
  • Engage in collaborative team meetings to contribute to the development and evaluation of student support plans.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Relevant experience or training as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in special education settings.
  • Possession of an updated CV covering the last ten years with no unexplained gaps, along with an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a compassionate approach to addressing the diverse needs of students.
