Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Ashington
Salary: £75 - £110 per day

Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time

Are you a recent graduate looking to make a real difference in children's lives? GSL Education are looking for a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Ashington. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in the education sector while supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students reach their full potential, both academically and personally. You will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities as a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN.
  • Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering tailored lessons.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with personal care needs when required.
  • Encourage the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

To be a successful Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you need:

  • A recent degree (any subject) – Psychology or Education-related subjects preferred.
  • A passion for working with children, especially those with SEN.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Experience working with children or young people (voluntary or paid).
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of each child.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Possess an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to have one processed immediately.
