About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Correspondence and Appeals Officer to join our team at the London Borough of Newham. As a key member of our Parking Service, you will be responsible for ensuring Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) enquiries and representations are responded to within statutory timeframes and in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and respond appropriately to PCN representations, appeals, and enquiries in line with legislation and council policies.
  • Prepare case summaries and evidence packs for adjudication hearings.
  • Manage your own caseload and support other team members as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a high level of attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the Parking industry, dealing with Parking-related correspondence and/or complaints is highly desirable.
  • Excellent IT and administration skills, with the ability to manage your own caseload and support other team members.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid working environment, with one to two days in the office, dependent on service delivery.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of £32,925 - £33,957 per annum for the full-time role, pro rata for part-time roles.
  • A 12-month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension.
  • Hybrid working arrangements, with one to two days in the office, dependent on service delivery.
  • Equipment provided, including a laptop and other necessary tools.
