Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team at KION Group. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and rectify faults on customer forklifts, ensuring timely and efficient resolution.
  • Provide reliable information to customers regarding maintenance, repairs, and equipment usage.
  • Adhere to company Health and Safety policies, procedures, and practices, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of automated system and paperwork, including job sheets, timesheets, and purchase requisitions.
  • Liaise with management for authorization of parts and process order numbers.
  • Collaborate with the Service Controller, customer, and Service Manager to share information regarding individual forklifts and equipment.
  • Make proposals for improving work activities and work conditions.
  • Ensure all allocated work is completed and notify Manager or Controller if in arrears.
  • Follow specified Engineering Standards and Safe Working Practices, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate stock levels and movement records.
  • Obtain hour meter readings and site information as requested.
  • Maintain company-issued equipment and tooling in a satisfactory, clean, and safe condition.
  • Work closely with the sales and STR team, referring leads as necessary.
  • Meet strict planned schedules and deadlines.
  • Take responsibility for van weight and safe/roadworthy condition.
  • Understand and work to KPIs related to service, admin, and stock.
  • Take on additional duties as required by the Manager to ensure departmental smooth operation.
  • Participate in training days, work meetings, and other meetings for information exchange.
