Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Terrorism Underwriter to join our team in London. This role will involve underwriting new business and renewals for Terrorism and Political Violence risks, with a focus on influencing and implementing underwriting profit goals.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence and be able to make decisions quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new business and renewals according to defined underwriting guidelines, specified budget, and local business plan.
  • Assist in formulating underwriting strategy, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve underwriting profitability.
  • Ensure quality control within defined area of responsibility by undertaking quantitative underwriting reviews and peer reviews.
  • Work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the UK&I to maximise cross-sell opportunities.
  • Prioritise and develop products within area of specialist expertise to improve client retention and new business.
  • Represent and promote Chubb corporately to brokers, internal, and external clients domestically and overseas.
Requirements
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of underwriting Terrorism and Political Violence.
  • Excellent attention to detail with experience using complex pricing and risk selection tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Results-driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.
  • Ability to build strong relationships quickly and work collaboratively with others.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including a pension scheme, life assurance, and access to training and development opportunities.

Location

This role is based in our London office, but you may be required to travel to other locations as part of your job. We offer flexible working arrangements and a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
