Mental Health Support Worker

A well-respected specialist school in the Surrey Hills is seeking an Intervention and Pastoral Assistant to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The students range between 10 and 16 years old, and some children / young people will have suffered trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
The ideal candidate will be dedicated to being a consistent role model, committed to building strong relationships, empathetic and up for a challenge. This is a challenging role, but any previous experience in a relevant field would be advantageous, although not essential.
Training, support and CPD is required to ensure safeguarding of all students. The perfect candidate will have experience working with SEN children and/or adults in any setting. Graduates in Psychology, Criminology or Counselling would also be suitable for this position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their career in the Mental Health Sector. The salary for this role is £80-£100 per day, Mon-Fri, 8.30am-4pm, term time only. On-site training, support and CPD are provided to ensure safeguarding of all students.
