Transport Supervisor Role

Menzies Distribution Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the efficient distribution of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with transport legislation, health and safety regulations, and customer service requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the distribution of goods in accordance with the plan provided by the Regional Planning Centre.
  • Control and execute the day and night plan to ensure timely delivery.
  • Pre-brief drivers to ensure they understand the day's work and requirements.
  • De-brief drivers to ensure all required work is completed and issues are addressed.
  • Minimise/maximise impact on vehicle earnings to meet budgeted targets.
  • Communicate issues to relevant stakeholders and adhere to transport-related compliance.
  • Conduct investigations and return to work interviews as required.
  • Source local agency drivers and sub-contractors as needed.
  • Co-ordinate and build key KPI reports for customers.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience in a busy transport office.
  • Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation.
  • Strong negotiating skills and good standard of education.
  • IT literate and knowledge of health and safety.
  • Commercial understanding and knowledge of transport systems.
