Transport Operations Manager

Transport Supervisor Role
Menzies Distribution Ltd is seeking an experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the efficient distribution of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with transport legislation, health and safety regulations, and customer service requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute daily and night plans to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Pre-brief and de-brief drivers to ensure they understand their tasks and any issues that arise.
- Minimize/maximize vehicle earnings to meet budgeted targets.
- Communicate with stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain customer service levels.
- Adhere to and control transport-related compliance.
- Conduct investigations and return to work interviews as required.
- Source local agency drivers and sub-contractors as needed.
- Coordinate and build key KPI reports for customers.
- Ensure accurate trailer checks and site team awareness of safety standards.
- Perform other transport office-related duties, including POD control and scanning.
Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience in a busy transport office.
- Knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph, and WTD legislation.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Good standard of education.
- IT literate.
- Knowledge of health and safety.
- Commercial understanding.
- Knowledge of transport systems.
