About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced oceanographer to join our team at ECO Magazine. As a Research Scientist, you will be responsible for investigating North Atlantic circulation and the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation (AMOC) using observations, numerical modeling, and artificial intelligence techniques.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop new methods for observing the AMOC and work on projects such as MEZCAL, RAPID, and OSNAP. You will also have the chance to attend international project meetings and conferences, as well as collaborate with US partners.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong track record in physical oceanography research, ideally with a focus on Atlantic circulation and processes. You should have experience using observational datasets, reanalysis products, and model output in your research, as well as a strong interest in applying machine learning techniques to ocean dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate North Atlantic circulation and the AMOC using observations, numerical modeling, and artificial intelligence techniques
  • Develop new methods for observing the AMOC
  • Work on projects such as MEZCAL, RAPID, and OSNAP
  • Attend international project meetings and conferences
