Marine Climatologist Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and independently-minded scientist to join our team at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) in Southampton. As a Marine Climatologist, you will play a key role in conducting world-leading research into the drivers of air-sea exchanges of heat and momentum and their uncertainty.

This position contributes to the strategic research programme of the NOC Marine Physics and Ocean Climate Research Group and will contribute to the delivery of science for projects, including ORCHESTRA and CLASS at NOC within the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC).

You will have a PhD or equivalent experience, ideally in atmospheric or oceanographic sciences and be skilled in using and developing data analysis software. You will be able to demonstrate the mathematical ability to handle theoretical aspects of air-sea interaction research.

The starting salary for this position will be between £29,181 and £33,558 per annum (Band 6). Depending upon skills and experience, additional allowances may be available for exceptional candidates between £500 and £2,000.
