Job Title: Principal Flood Risk Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water Environment team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead hydrological and hydraulic modeling projects, work with clients and regulators, and develop the skills of junior consultants.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in flood risk assessment, hydrological and hydraulic modeling, and experience working with clients and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead hydrological and hydraulic modeling projects, including flood risk assessments and hydrodynamic modeling.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory bodies, including the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales.
  • Mentor and develop junior consultants, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Contribute to business development, identifying new opportunities and developing proposals to secure new clients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to deliver projects and achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Strong background in flood risk assessment, hydrological and hydraulic modeling, and experience working with clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience with flood modeling software, including Flood Modeler Pro and TUFLOW.
  • Strong understanding of current planning policies and procedures, including the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and Technical Advice Note 15 (TAN 15).
