Job Summary

Scottish Autism is seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals to support autistic adults in the Orkney area. As an Autism Practitioner, you will work with a team to develop and implement personalized support plans, build positive relationships, and work in partnership with individuals, their families, and health professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continually develop and implement personalized support plans for the supported individual.
  • Build positive relationships with the supported individual.
  • Work in partnership with the supported individual, their family, support network, and health professionals.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the supported individual's life goals and aspirations are at the centre of their support.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Enable supported individuals to make informed choices using their preferred communication methods.
  • Support individuals to take part in their chosen activities, including day trips, attending local events, shopping, and going on holiday.
  • Assist individuals with completing necessary tasks, such as paying bills and supporting them to make decisions that matter to them.
  • Support individuals to live as independently as possible with support with various life skills and may include support with personal care.

Requirements

  • Experience of working within social care is desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to learn and develop into the role.
