Our service is designed to provide essential support to individuals with autism, focusing on their personal growth and community engagement. Our staff, known as Autism Support Specialists, play a vital role in fostering an inclusive environment that promotes skill development and social participation.

At Scottish Autism, we value the unique contributions of our team members. Our team receives ongoing coaching and training to ensure the delivery of high-quality support.

A valid UK driving license is required for this position.

Responsibilities of Autism Support Specialists include:

  • Developing and executing personalized support plans tailored to individual needs,
  • Establishing positive relationships with those we support,
  • Collaborating with individuals, their families, and healthcare professionals,
  • Ensuring that the aspirations and goals of those we support are prioritized in their care.

Daily tasks involve:

  • Assisting individuals in making informed choices using their preferred communication methods,
  • Supporting participation in chosen activities,
  • Aiding in tenancy maintenance and decision-making processes,
  • Providing necessary support in personal care, promoting independence, and community involvement.
  • Engaging with individuals in their local community.

This role requires flexibility, including shift work during evenings and weekends.

All positions are subject to a PVG Disclosure check. New employees must apply for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council within three months of starting and complete registration within six months.
