About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our catering team at Horder Healthcare. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Corporate Catering Manager and Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that food is prepared and served to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of menus, ensuring that they meet the dietary needs of our patients.
  • Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring that food is prepared and served to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Catering Manager to develop and implement new menu ideas and improve existing ones.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are trained and equipped to provide excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and control kitchen costs, ensuring that they are within budget.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds 706 Level 2, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent C.I.E.H. Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
  • Prior experience within a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, to help build relationships with patients and colleagues.
  • Exposure to menu planning, with a keen interest in current food and dietary trends.
  • Proactive and forward thinking, with a passion for continued learning.
