We are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims with varying complexity, ensuring that they are adequately reserved, loss coded, and managed effectively to enable accurate pricing and reserving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of claims with varying complexity, ensuring that they are adequately reserved, loss coded, and managed effectively to enable accurate pricing and reserving.
  • Act as a technical referral point for colleagues, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure that claims are processed in a timely and efficient manner, meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve claims handling processes and procedures.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in claims handling, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex data and information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately, meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Strong system skills, with the ability to navigate and update multiple platforms simultaneously.
