Customs Bureau is a London-based design studio that creates immersive and atmospheric spaces that reflect the clients' brand and location. Founded in 2022 by Shida Salehi, the studio's holistic design approach encompasses sustainability initiatives, textiles, industrial, and product design.

The studio's mission is to reshape the hospitality experience by understanding the future of travel and leisure. With a focus on curation and care, Customs Bureau's design team crafts spaces that evoke emotions and create a sense of connection.

Responsibilities
  • Concept Development: Responsible for developing concept design through planning, sketching, and rendering.
  • Schematic Design: Acquire and coordinate samples from vendors, formulate furniture boards, and refine finish selections.
  • Design Development: Flush out and refine the approved design language into buildable drawings, assist in information required by the Spec department, and coordinate with outside project consultants.
  • Construction Documentation: Develop a complete drawing package, including detailing, elevations, and plans, and compile and finalize all FF&E pieces.
  • Construction Administration: Provide sufficient information when requested by the Project Management team, answer vendor/contractor's questions, and review Shop Drawings and Submittals.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field of Design, such as Interior Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, or Fashion Design.
  • 6+ years of post-graduate work experience.
  • Adequate knowledge of the Interior Design Profession.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SketchUp, and b+w hand rendering skills.
