Children's Wellbeing Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner. As a key member of our Children and Young People's Mental Health Service (CYPMHS), you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies to children and young people in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver low-intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) interventions to children and young people, working in a training capacity.
- Use evidence-based group work interventions to support parents, children, and young people, and deliver training to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Work with children and young people from diverse cultural backgrounds and underserved populations, using interpreters when necessary, and be committed to providing equal opportunities.
- Meet targets set within the service and successfully complete training on the Postgraduate Diploma in Children Wellbeing Practitioner course at Northumbria University within 12 months.
We are looking for an individual with a degree-level education and experience of working to support the mental health needs of children, young people, and their families. You should have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other associated IT packages, as well as proven organisational and time management skills.
As a member of our team, you will be expected to work flexibly in a variety of environments, including community settings, and to engage with vulnerable and underserved populations. You should have a strong understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in children and young people, as well as an understanding of the need for evidence-based psychological therapies.
