We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in our inclusive and nurturing primary school in Burnley.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and have experience supporting children with ASC or other special educational needs. They will be skilled in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and strategies to promote learning and development, and foster a positive, structured, and supportive environment for the child.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure the child's needs are met, adapt resources and teaching approaches to help the child access the curriculum, and support the child's social, emotional, and academic progress both in the classroom and during activities.

  • Provide one-to-one support for children with ASC, tailored to their individual needs.">

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with ASC or other special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.">
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above).">
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.">

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.">
  • Knowledge of autism-specific strategies and interventions.">
