Childcare Support Worker

SalaryWe offer a competitive salary, including:
- A 39-hour contract: £52,320 - £56,512 per annum (including sleep-in rate)
- An hourly rate range: £11.20
- A sleep-in rate: £55.25 (average of 5 sleep-ins per week)
We are seeking an experienced Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our residential childcare team, you will be responsible for providing individualised support to children and young people with specific and complex needs.
- Support young people's activities such as outdoor adventures, educational trips, and social events.
- Provide daily care and support to children and young people to ensure they can make informed choices.
- Teach and promote life skills to help the child develop independence and self-sufficiency.
- Assist in running the home, including meal preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Ensure the physical and emotional safety of the child by maintaining a secure environment.
- Develop strong, trusting relationships with the child to provide emotional support and stability.
- Implement therapeutic techniques and interventions as part of a care plan.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of the child's progress and behaviours.
- Support the child's educational needs, including homework assistance and educational planning.
- Engage in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
- Act as an advocate for the child's needs and rights.
- Work in shifts, including weekends and sleep-in shifts.
