About Our Facility
The Aberavon Facility specializes in rehabilitation and recovery services for individuals dealing with complex, severe, and persistent mental health issues. Our establishment caters to patients referred from various healthcare systems and the Criminal Justice System, in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983.
Our facility features an 18-bed secure rehabilitation unit specifically designed for male patients aged 18 to 65.
Responsibilities of the Clinical Operations Manager
As the Clinical Operations Manager, you will need to possess a comprehensive understanding of the operational and business elements of the facility. Your responsibilities will include making impactful decisions for both patients and staff, necessitating strong leadership and managerial skills. You will lead a committed care team that delivers high-quality services, positively influencing the lives of service users. Your focus will be on the daily operations of the facility, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of care for both staff and patients.
Key Duties Include:
- Effectively manage the budget, allocate resources wisely, and monitor performance to ensure high-quality healthcare services within financial constraints.
- Exhibit leadership skills and financial expertise in overseeing managerial responsibilities, including revenue management, expense tracking, financial planning, and forecasting.
- Ensure that care standards not only meet but exceed healthcare regulations.
- Keep the team informed with mandatory training and updates on the latest research, legislative changes, and healthcare practices.
- Leverage technology to foster a culture of innovation for the benefit of residents.
- Clarify staff roles, providing necessary support for safe and effective execution of their responsibilities.
- Comply with legal, regulatory, and best practice guidelines consistently.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external professionals, agencies, and inspectors.
- Address the evolving needs of residents with respect, regularly reviewing and updating Care Plans.
- Oversee recruitment, retention, training, motivation, and communication of staff, conducting appraisals and disciplinary actions as necessary.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a learning disability or mental health setting, either as a Facility Manager, experienced Deputy Manager, or Registered Nurse Manager.
- Hold a QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be working towards it.
- Preferably possess clinical experience.
- Have thorough knowledge of the regulatory responsibilities of a Clinical Operations Manager and care service laws within Wales.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively promote and market services, maintaining a positive community profile.
- Have experience in enhancing healthcare ratings and striving for outstanding performance.
- Exhibit strong values and commitment to leading and supporting a diverse team.
- Be familiar with health and safety regulations in healthcare services and risk management.
- Be capable of creating a safe and harmonious environment for both staff and residents.
- Emphasize professional development and teamwork in all aspects of the role.
- Be a Registered Manager accredited by HIW.
- Possess strong literacy, numeracy, administrative skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
- Be skilled in building positive relationships with patients, families, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
- Have experience in managing and developing an effective staff team, including recruitment, training, support, and supervision.
