Head of Compliance and MLRO

**Job Summary**

LMA is partnering with a well-known bank to fill the Head of Compliance & MLRO position. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing policies and strategies, including writing Financial Crime policies from scratch.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Oversee and assist Senior Management in establishing and maintaining the AML/CTF framework.
* Develop and maintain policies and procedures of the AML/CTF framework in line with evolving statutory and regulatory obligations.
* Conduct an annual risk assessment of TBUK and map mitigating controls.
* Oversee First Line of Defense (1LoD) procedures and monitoring programs to ensure unusual transactions are identified and analyzed.
* Act as TBUK's point of contact with NCA and other regulatory, law enforcement, and investigatory agencies on AML matters.
* At least 8 or 10+ years of experience as an MLRO and head of compliance.
* Current regulatory experience and knowledge including AML laws.
* Financial crime background and experience preferred.
* Retail Banking and financial services experience.

**Requirements**

* Strong understanding of complex regulatory and legal concepts and their implications for the bank.
* Agile, reactive, and adept at navigating change.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
