The Role

We are seeking an experienced Sommelier to join our wine team at Gymkhana, a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant in Mayfair. As Assistant Head Sommelier, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and recommending wines to customers to complement their tastes and pair with their menu choices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional service and create memorable dining experiences for our guests
  • Recommend and sell wines to customers, showcasing your knowledge and passion for wine
  • Work closely with the wine team to maintain a comprehensive wine list and ensure seamless service
  • Develop and implement wine and food pairing menus to enhance the dining experience
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure wine and food pairings are expertly matched
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sommelier in a quality restaurant
  • WSET or equivalent Sommelier qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage, with a passion for wine and hospitality
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Fluent English language ability
