Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Field Interviewer. As a Field Interviewer, you will play a crucial role in collecting data for the Office for National Statistics (ONS) by conducting surveys and interviews with members of the public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct surveys and interviews with respondents in their homes, using a laptop and survey materials.
  • Visit sampled addresses to collect household contact information and encourage respondents to complete surveys online or over the phone.
  • Work independently, managing your own workload and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with respondents, using excellent verbal communication skills to persuade them to participate in surveys and interviews.
  • Use technology, including laptops and smartphones, to complete tasks and record data.
Requirements
  • Be able to transport and carry equipment, such as laptops and survey materials, and navigate stairs when out in the field.
  • Work within a 40-mile radius of the allocated work area, using a car for business purposes.
  • Have a broadband internet connection at your home address prior to taking up an offer of employment.
  • Hold a full valid UK driving license, inclusive of the rights of EU nationals.
  • Pass a Disclosure and Barring Service check, with a requirement for SC clearance.

As a Field Interviewer with the ONS, you will receive a competitive salary of £13,496, plus a contribution of £3,909 towards your membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
