Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinician to join our multidisciplinary team as an Autism Specialist Practitioner, Band 6. The successful candidate will work with adults with autism, providing diagnostic assessments and post-diagnostic support services.

Main Duties

The main purpose of this role is to:

  • Screen and assess adults for autism spectrum conditions
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate post-diagnostic support, individual and group interventions
  • Provide specialist advice, training, consultation, and liaison to support other staff working with autistic adults

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A diploma or degree in a relevant field, such as social work, occupational therapy, or speech and language therapy
  • HCPC registration or Nursing and Midwifery Council registration
  • Experience of working with autism and neurodevelopmental conditions, as well as mental health conditions
  • A thorough knowledge of autistic spectrum conditions, major mental health disorders, and relevant intervention strategies
