Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our catering team at Spire Cardiff. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen, restaurant, and ward hostess functions, delivering a customer-focused, five-star experience to patients, consultants, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall operation of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food quality and hygiene.
  • Plan and execute daily catering services for the hospital.
  • Lead a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve excellent food quality and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and allergen controls.
  • Develop and implement menus to meet special dietary requirements.
  • Manage kitchen budgets and resources effectively.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a managerial role in a hospital or healthcare environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality food services in a fast-paced environment.
  • City and Guilds or equivalent qualification in culinary arts.
  • Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3) and advanced qualification in food hygiene or a relevant catering qualification.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing circumstances.
