Job Title: Procurement Specialist

WSP is a leading engineering and professional services firm working across various sectors. We are expanding our business, and the Responsible Consumption and Production team aims to enhance and broaden its service offering.

The team has a strong track record of providing technical advice on waste infrastructure and services procurement projects. We are seeking a consultant with experience in providing technical advisory support on waste procurement projects.

The successful candidate will provide technical procurement advisory services to our clients, leading and managing project delivery teams. Guidance and support will be provided to help the consultant deliver the job role and transition into next stages of their career.

The range of projects the post-holder could expect to contribute to includes:

  • Leading and/or providing support on projects across a wide range of waste management themes, with a focus on the procurement of waste infrastructure and environmental services contracts;
  • Supporting procurement exercises, including assessing contract extension proposals, developing tender specifications, and evaluating bidder submissions;
  • Developing business cases to support the delivery of services differently;
  • Environmental service reviews to analyse the effectiveness and efficiency of existing services to identify improvements and savings for clients.

The successful candidate will manage projects by applying our internal procedures, ensuring that projects are well monitored, delivered on-time, and within budget with high client satisfaction ratings. They will also act as a technical expert, providing input to a range of resources and waste projects.

The ideal candidate will have pertinent experience of environmental and waste services or infrastructure procurement projects for local authorities, a performance management framework, and experience of competitive dialogue and/or competitive procedure with negotiation procurement procedures.
