About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of passionate professionals. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs, to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement strategies to support students with special needs, promoting positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilise behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviour and foster a sense of belonging among students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children, with a commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.
