We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs, to reach their maximum potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement strategies to support students with diverse special needs, including those with autism or social and emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Utilize various methods to encourage positive behavior and active participation in learning activities.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behavior management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
- Offer personalized one-on-one assistance to students with special needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
- Knowledge of and experience with behavior management strategies.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
- A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.
