About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team of professionals in Locks Heath. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse special needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement strategies to support students with special needs, promoting their maximum potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilize behaviour management strategies to encourage positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment by assisting with behaviour management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special needs.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.
