About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with diverse special needs in a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement evidence-based strategies to support students with autism or social and emotional needs, promoting their maximum potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and fellow SEN Teaching Assistants to foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Utilize effective behaviour management techniques to encourage active participation and positive behaviour in learning activities.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and supportive classroom environment by assisting with behaviour management and fostering a sense of belonging among students.
  • Provide personalized one-on-one support to students with special needs.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism or social and emotional needs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.
