Job Summary:

Northern Marine is seeking a highly skilled HSEQ Quality Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Ship Management department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and developing our Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure compliance with ISM, TMSA, and ISO standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance and development of our SMS, ensuring it remains effective and compliant.
  • Produce and supply safety, environmental, and quality documentation as required, including initial fill creation for new vessels.
  • Maintain controlled copies of HSEQ documentation in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Support documentation amendments and revisions to meet identified needs in the development of our SMS.
  • Provide an audit function for office audits, reviewing non-conformance close-out and ensuring effective corrective and preventative action.
  • Issue audits in accordance with audit schedules and maintain our Change Management Procedure.
  • Collate and issue responses to vessel meeting minutes and reviews.
  • Prepare the Contingency File and index, and pass to Technical Assistants.
  • Maintain our Company's archive/storage area.
  • Participate in HSEQ projects as assigned by management.
  • Perform other duties as required by Senior Management.

Requirements:

  • 3 Highers or Diploma or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working in an auditing role.
  • Database management skills.
  • Previous experience in a Quality Officer/Assurance role.
  • Good organisation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously.
  • Proven ability to work to targets and deadlines.

Emergency Role: Member of the Casualty Response Team.
